In December 1915, Edward A. Green invented the “nut and retainer.” A few years later, he patented the “nut lock,” paving the way for what is now known as the Security Locknut. This unique locking nut was said to be originally used on military applications during the decades of World War I and World War II.

Around 2010, the company changed hands and its current management team brought the product and the company into the modern era.
